Frequently Asked Questions
Are any stories free to read?
At times, yes. Special offers run intermittently, but these offers only apply to Short Stories.
Novels are not free to download in their entirety; however, the first three chapters often are. If you still can’t get no satisfaction, then you can check out the Poetry section, which is entirely free.
How often are new stories published?
As often as possible. Frequency will vary, but we aim for a release of some kind every couple of months.
What formats are the stories available in?
For all items that require payment, PDF and EPUB (eBook). Links are provided for both. Free downloads may only be available as PDF; please check the item Information field for more info.
Are your stories suitable for all ages?
For the most part, yes. It varies. Some stories may contain explicit content/references.
I have added an Information field containing an age guide. Stories will either be rated “General” or “16+”. These are like the pirate’s code: more guidelines than rules. It is possible that what I classify as “General” does not align with what you do. Hopefully you can enjoy the story nevertheless.
How do I download my item after purchase?
When you complete your order, you will be taken directly to a downloads page.
You will also receive an email with your download link(s) at the email address entered.
If you have an account, you can access your downloads from there at any time.
How long are your stories?
As long as they need to be.
There are both Novels and Short Stories available. If you require a differentiation between the two, then the Novels will have chapters, whereas the Short Stories won’t.
Some Short Stories, such as The Secrets of Hanwyn Castle, are quite long, at 7,000 words. Others, such as The Dance of the Mayflies, are closer to 1,000.
A word count is provided (rounded to the nearest thousand) for each story under its Information tab.
Can I print the eBook I purchased?
If you have access to a printer, then I presume so.
There are things you can’t do, such as redistributing the stories. If you really want to test the legal boundaries, then read our Terms & Conditions first.
Can I have a refund?
In short: no.
If you require more info, read our policy here.
Do you use A.I.?
For writing, never.
It is a useless creator.
I use it for other purposes, such as aiding with website design, and it did produce the images for the book covers. One day, I will hire an actual artist to draw actual pictures, but that day is not today. Also, regarding the website, that clanker was next to useless, even in its lowly employment as a walkthrough guide or to recommend plugins. I mention this, as the website was entirely my vision; so, if you have a problem with it, then just know that your criticism will be taken personally.
Who and What are your influences?
Numerous.
Since I was young, I was fascinated with ancient Myths and Legends; from Greek to Egyptian, and then further through time in the likes of King Arthur. These stories have stood the test of time for a reason. Likewise, Shakespeare, once my brain learned to process the olde language.
Aside from them, Harry Potter was probably the ignition piece, that first inspired me to create. Followed closely by The Lord of the Rings. Other notable influences include: 1984, Lord of the Flies, Catch-22, and anything by Charles Dickens.
I am also an avid reader of History. Sometimes fact is more interesting than fiction.
But, to be honest, I believe I am influenced equally by pieces which I don’t like. They inspire me to create something that (in my humble opinion) reads as unique and different.
If you are interested in how my stories came to be, then please read the About the Story section on the product page. This briefs the writing process and influences of that particular story, without revealing too many spoilers.
How do I get in contact?
Generally speaking, you don’t. It’s nothing personal.
If you really want to let me know what you think, you can leave a review of the stories you like. Each story features a dedicated section for this, titled: Reviews. If you’re lucky, I might respond to your comment. Maybe.
If you are an Agent/Publisher, then that is another matter entirely. Email link here.
If you are having trouble with your purchase, can’t figure something out, or are just generally feeling lonely, then drop me an email and I’ll see what I can do. The relevant email address is provided with your purchase, whether it’s free or paid.
